It's been a good week for the Ahlberg kids!

Thursday night was Awards Night at Lincoln Northeast.  Bailey wasn't able to go due to her lifeguarding class.  The next day, she found out she received the following awards as well as previously receiving awards and recognition in music:

• Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools Reeder Mueller Scholarship
• Lincoln Northeast Senior Award of Excellent in Music
• Lincoln Northeast Senior Award of Excellence in Social Studies
• President's Award for Educational Achievement
• Learn to Dream Scholarship
• Appreciation for Outstanding Service for dedication to the LNE Music Department
• Senior Award for completing four years of LNE Music
• Lincoln Northeast Music Letter

On Friday, there was an Awards Celebration at Mickle Middle School for Drew and Cody.  Drew received a pin for being a top performer in the math club.  Mickle Middle School did very well in this national math league.  For the final ranking, Mickle came in fourth out of about 170 schools across the United States.  They missed getting third by one point.  To get a feel for the competition, two of the top schools were from California and the seventh place team was from Seoul, Korea.  Quite the competition!

Cody received several awards that included placing in top percentages at Mickle and in the nation.  The most exciting news is that Cody received THE highest honor.  He received the top score IN THE NATION.  There were three 8th graders who received this award--one from Maryland, one from New Jersey and Cody.  He is a math whiz!

• Sigma School Winner
• Sigma Mathematical League Award - All Team and Merit Award
• Participation in the Mickle Middle School Math Club 2010-2011
• Achievement Award 8th Grade - Champion in the 2010-2011 Sigma Math League National Mathematical Competition
• Achievement Award - Champion in the Mickle Middle School competition for all grades
• Award of Excellent - Recognition of performance in the top 1% of all 8th grade competitors (Score 40 out of 40)
